More NHL and NBA Playoffs this weekend. Several NBA games are free to stream, and all NBA Playoff games are available without cable on Sling TV, sign up for a free trial. There are a few new movies and shows on Netflix, I'm looking forward to finally finishing Sons of Anarchy. On May 1st Netflix will get many new titles and some will be removed. Hulu will get exclusive rights to shows on Cartoon Network, TNT, and more. I also put together a quick article on who should and shouldn't cut the cord.

- Sunday: Cavs vs Celtics, 1:00p on ESPN3
- Sunday: Clippers vs Spurs, 3:30p on ESPN3
- Sunday: Rockets vs Mavericks, 9:00p on TNT OT
The ESPN3 games are also available free on ABC with an antenna. TNT OT is multiple alternate camera angles. All NBA Playoff games are available through Sling TV without cable, sign up for a free Sling trial.
There are also NHL Playoff games all weekend long. The NBC games on Saturday and Sunday afternoon are free with an antenna, and there are no options to stream without cable.

Hulu announced a deal where it will get exclusive subscription streaming rights to current, past, and future shows from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, TNT, and TBS. The deal begins on May 1st and will include Rick and Morty, Black Jesus, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken,The Last Ship, and many more.
Verizon is now offering a 'custom TV plan'. It comes with broadcast networks, local channels, and a few other popular channels. Subscribers then select two 'channel packs' based on their interests (sports, news, family, etc). The plans start at $55, compared to $75 for their normal bundle of channels (first year promotional prices). Additional channel packs are available for $10 each, and can be swapped every month. If you get FiOS in your area this may be worth checking out.
The YouTube app will stop working on older streaming media players, likely in late May. Affected players include the 2nd gen Apple TV (though Airplay from the YouTube mobile app will still work), iPhones and iPads not updated to at least iOS7, and select other players made prior to 2013. Leanflix is a new product that aims to help find something to watch on Netflix, Amazon, iTunes, and HBO. There are several filtering options, making it a very powerful tool.
Comcast is reportedly dropping its planned acquisition of Time Warner Cable due to regulatory concerns. Maybe they'll actually compete with each other now.
